“My mind has no desire to stay where doubts arise and fears dismay;
As I continue to move onward bound, secure my feet on Higher Ground”
Welcome to Higher Ground Wellness Group
Higher Ground Wellness Group is an African American owned group practice dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic space for all individuals, with a special focus on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). At Higher Ground Wellness Group, we believe in the power of community, healing, and transformation. We are here to support you on your journey toward emotional, physical, and mental wellness.
Our Mission
We are committed to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health in BIPOC communities by increasing awareness and improving access to quality mental health services. Seeking therapy is a courageous step, and we strive to offer a supportive, non-judgmental environment where individuals, couples, families, and groups can heal and thrive.
Our Approach
We recognize that therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all” model. That’s why we take a holistic approach to healing, incorporating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Humanistic Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). Our clinicians, consisting of Licensed Psychologists and professional counselors, are highly trained in various therapeutic modalities and take a collaborative approach to treatment, ensuring that each client’s journey is personalized to their unique needs and goals.
Education & Mentorship
Beyond therapy, Higher Ground Wellness Group is committed to fostering the next generation of mental health professionals. We offer supervised internship and practicum training for future clinicians, providing hands-on experience and mentorship in the field of mental health.
