About

“My mind has no desire to stay where doubts arise and fears dismay;
As I continue to move onward bound, secure my feet on Higher Ground”

Founded by African American Women, Higher Ground Wellness Group’s mission is to provide a safe therapeutic space for all people, particularly Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

Our vision is to end stigma in BIPOC communities regarding seeking mental health services, by increasing awareness and access to mental health resources. It is a courageous choice to seek therapy and with over 50 years of combined experience, Higher Ground Wellness Group is committed to providing extensive, high quality therapeutic services for individuals, couples, families and groups in a safe and non-judgmental environment  that reinforces emotional, physical, and mental wellness.

Therapy is not a “one-size fits all” model. Therefore, at Higher Ground Wellness Group, we believe in a holistic approach to healing as well as utilizing Evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy,  Humanistic Therapy and Emotional Focus Therapy. All of our clinicians at Higher Ground Wellness Group are trained in a variety of modalities and are very collaborative when it comes to treatment and setting goals.

In addition to emotional wellness services, Higher Ground Wellness Group serves in the areas of Education and Mentorship by offering supervised internship/practicum training for future clinicians.
